2022 Central Exhibition

To help you decide which artists to visit this year, go along to our Central Exhibition at Lamport Hall. You will be able to view and buy works by the artists taking part in open studios and other exhibitions around the county.

“Lamport Hall has an immensely strong association with art going back to 1676 when Sir Thomas Isham, 3rd Baronet, embarked on his grand tour, which culminated in what is now one of the most notable art collections in the country. Art and the arts are the foundation of cultural fulfilment in Northamptonshire, bringing people together from all backgrounds to celebrate creativity. I am delighted to host Open Studios 2022 in the spectacular Lamport Hall Stableyard.”
Mark Herrod, Director, Lamport Hall

“Art doesn't happen by chance. Artists create ideas, but they need space and time to develop these ideas. For visual artists, it all comes together in the studio, the place where that spark of inspiration catches fire. For most artists, the studio is more than one room set aside for work. I encourage everyone to visit and discover this for themselves. It’s not every day an artist will open up their secret world for us all to experience.”
Katie Boyce, Director, NOS

Lamport Hall Preservation Trust Art Bursaries

To support the development of the counties art, Northants Open Studios, with the generous support of the Lamport Hall Enterprise Trust will be offering 5 artist bursaries to help with the development of their practice following Septembers festival. Find out who will be awarded these at our closing ceremony.

The organisers of Northants Open Studios are very lucky to be supported by local businesses and partners who see the value in the Arts within the county. They like to show their support by offering up prizes for those artists taking part in the Festival, which are awarded to acknowledge an appreciation of an individual's achievements and development. The awards will be announced at the end of September at the closing ceremony, Saturday 24th September at Lamport Hall.
